Face your past and Don’t Go Back

Sitting on the side of the bed day dreaming, reminiscing – call it whatever you want – the truth is you’re having another “what if” moment from your past.

What if:

  • I had gone to college?
  • I had married “that” man/woman?
  • I hadn’t had a child?
  • I didn’t have to face the heartache and abuse?
  • I wasn’t so big/small, short/tall?

What if?  What if?  What if?

So, what if you didn’t  go through all that you went through – do you think that without that you’d be where you are today?  Knowing that God will never put more on you than you can bear, why are you tripping over something that’s happened, you can’t go back and change it – just face it and move forward!

I’ve made mistakes, we all have but does that mean that I’m going to remain in bondage to a reality of used to be?  Let it go!  One thing that I so appreciate about a relationship with Christ is that with Him, according to 2 Cor. 5:17, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature, old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new!”  With Christ we are changed, we are healed, we are freed, we are delivered!  With Christ, we can face our past and let it go because we have peace, grace and favor!

Take a moment, this moment and embrace a right now mindset that your won’t go back to the way things used to be before Christ came in and changed you.  Let no thought of your past keep you from moving forward into you destiny.  Look in the mirror, have that wrong thought for the last time and don’t go back.

Today, face your past – be grateful for the lessons learned and let it go!  You will be blessed and Empowered!

  1. I agree with you, God has pulled us out of the miry clay no need to continue to waddle in it. He says my mercy is new every morning great is My faithfulness to you, God gives us a fresh start every morning we breathe His life through our bodies, we may as well leave the past behind and press forward. Very encouraging Valerie!
