As I reflect this morning on our Bible Encounter last night, the idea of silence is still weighing heavily on me. Silence, by definition means, “the complete absence of sound or to prevent from speaking” according to Webster. Silence for me is a time of reflection, a time of revelation, a time of healing, a time of re-alignment, a time of liberty, a time of patience, a time of growing. Silence is EMPOWERING when utilized appropriately. Proverbs 17:28 reads, “Even a fool, when he keeps silent, is considered wise; when he closes his lips, he is considered prudent. Even a fool can utilize silence for a benefit. LOL!
So, the long and the short of this thought is that some of us need exercise some silence. We’ve become so overwhelmed with the uncertainties of life that all we do is complain and cast fault. We are so ridden with the cares of this world that we’re not recognizing the transitioning that’s taking place in front of our eyes. Sit down, lay down, quiet down and just be silent for a moment and breath! I want to encourage you that God is very aware of all that you’re going through. He has not left you, nor has he forsaken you. He is still in control! What’s needed now is for you to keep silent in His presence and hear what He is speaking to you concerning your life, and all that’s going on in it. Your problems are not too hard to solve, just listen to Him. Today, He wants to reveal the solution but He needs you to be silent because you’ve been making too much noise.

I read this and had to come back to it – had to get silent first! 😂😂 I think I interpret this more as stillness more than anything. I envision an intentional stealing away to be with our Lord, surrendering ourselves absolutely and completely, removing ourselves from the noise and busyness of our lives to finally hear from him, to receive from him, to wait on him for clarity and instruction.
