But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; they shall walk, and not faint. Isaiah 40:31
I often hear people say that they are waiting on the Lord, and in doing so – they literally sit down and do NOTHING! Wrong concept. When this scripture is telling us to wait on the Lord, it implies that we must serve Him. When you go to a restaurant, you are met by a greeter, who introduces to your waiter. Based on how well that waiter/waitress attends to your needs and provides great customer service, will usually depend on how well they are tipped. Imagine if God were waiting for you to start actively serve Him that same way?
This scripture states that when you “wait” on the Lord, He will renew your strength. How much strength are you exerting – sitting down? There would be no reason to strengthen you, or mount you up – doing nothing. My friends, He desires to empower you as you’re serving Him, to give you the ability to endure like a long-distance runner or walk a 10k. Friends, it’s time for ACTION!
If you’ve been one, making the claim that you’re waiting on God but not actively serving Him, today is the day for your get up and get busy sign. There is much work to be done in the Kingdom, and Father needs you active. Today, begin serving the Lord with gladness, purpose, and passion. The sooner you start, you sooner you’ll receive your reward.
Be Empowered!
