Today has bit a bit heart wrenching for me, listening to the reports of protests, and riots that got out of control. I pray, I speak up, I pray some more and still experience those brief moments of helplessness. I keep asking myself? “What does LOVE look like anymore?” Is our protest out of Love for the loss of a life, or is it that I’m emotionally charged because of the ill will. Is the rioting out of LOVE, or is it pure frustration that offers NO RESOLVE? Is the racial sarcasm and slander an indication of LOVE – of course not!
I have been, and consistently encouraging our ministry team to stay the course and always be a reflection of Christ, would that qualify as LOVE? I believe that we have the ability to make a difference but the core to the solution is LOVE. When we grasp John 3:16, which reads, “For God so loved the world, as to give his only begotten Son; that whosoever believeth in him, may not perish, but may have life everlasting.” we clearly see that an opportunity for life is available – but the absence of love literally chokes the life out.
How’s your LOVE game? What does LOVE look like to you? Are you giving it and it being reciprocated? I have many questions and know that the answers are coming. Brothers and Sisters, what does love look like to you?
