It’s Not a Problem – It’s an Opportunity

When confronted with opposition, we generally refer to that situation as a problem, but I’d like to suggest that we reframe our thinking and see it as an opportunity for change. The term problem carries with it negative connotations and weight or a burden. Problems are unwanted and generally unplanned, and sometimes harmful. Stating that you have a problem places you in the framework of being vulnerable, overwhelmed, confused or even depressed. In this hour, we don’t want to give space to those emotions, and when we do, we don’t want them to linger.
I started a few years ago, changing the dynamics of opposition, and began seeing a situation, as an OPPORTUNITY to change behaviors, mindsets, conversations and even relationships. James 1:3-4 reads, “Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.” This says to me, how you view your situation is going to determine the outcome. When you view a situation as an opportunity- you start strategizing how you’re going to overcome rather than complaining about how it’s going to overtake you. Family, this needs to become our norm.
Let’s begin to look at opposition through the lease of change instead of the lens of defeat. Let’s utilize the gift of the Holy Spirit that resides within to guide us as we maneuver through life, making the most of every OPPORTUNITY!
Love and Blessings
